Our Promise
Last updated: 2 August 2026
A time capsule is meant to last decades — longer than any app can promise about itself. That is why Ajatu is built so your family's recordings do not depend on us. This page explains how.
The whole archive is in your hands
You can download your entire time capsule from the app's settings as a single file: audio in open formats, together with the transcripts and summaries. Free, at any moment — downloading does not depend on a subscription. Your copy is in your hands, not behind our lock.
Where the recordings live
Recordings are stored on servers in the European Union, with a nightly backup to two separate locations. When you delete a recording, it is truly gone — deletion is covered in the privacy policy.
If Ajatu should ever close
If we ever have to shut the service down, we will give at least a year's notice, keep downloads open until the final day, and send every family their complete archive. After that, we delete all data permanently. We do not promise eternal storage — a server with no one looking after it is no safe home for children's voices. The safest place for the archive is in your own hands, and our job is to put it there.
What we don't do
- There are no ads in the app.
- Your data is not sold.
- Recordings are not used to train AI models.
